About Ms Elisha
Elisha Byerly - Co-owner/director of Vita Dance Academy.
Ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical teacher.
Elisha began dancing when she was 5 years old, and took classes for several years with Tracey Vita. Elisha's passion for dance and choreography began at a young age and was nurtured through intensive training with Way of Life Performing Arts Company, where she trained in multiple dance styles and performed both nationally and internationally. Elisha is a graduate of the University of South Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies. While completing her degree at USF, she founded and directed a dance/theatre company for students, where she began developing her voice as a choreographer and teacher. In 2012, she joined Sarasota Contemporary Dance as a company dancer and teaching artist. She continues to perform as a project-based dancer and currently serves as the company’s Education Lead. Since 2018, Elisha has also directed the SCD Kids Summer Program, sharing her love of dance with the next generation. In addition to her work with SCD, Elisha has taught and choreographed for numerous studios and public schools across Sarasota and Manatee counties, and currently serves as a teaching artist for New College of Florida. In January 2024, she became co-owner and director of Vita Dance Academy, formerly Tracey's Vita's School of dance, after teaching at the studio for 19 years. Elisha is a proud wife and mother of two boys, and she feels deeply grateful for their love and support.
